There’s yet more disappointment for brides and grooms as November weddings are ruled out, but Coltsford Mill has come to the rescue of one lucky couple.

On the last day of October, the Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced a new four-week lockdown for England, starting on Thursday 5 November.

What are the new lockdown rules for weddings?
Sadly, weddings will not be permitted, except in a few exceptional circumstances, until at least Wednesday 2 December.

However, at Coltsford Mill, we know that flexibility is essential in the face of a pandemic. One of our couples, who were due to marry after lockdown began, were devastated at the thought of putting off their big day. But we were determined to rescue their wedding, so we flew into action…

Within hours of the PM’s announcement, we had rearranged their entire wedding day – even the live ceremony music – for Wednesday 4 November. This meant that the lucky couple managed to beat lockdown and have the wedding day of their dreams, just a little earlier than planned!

What happens to my wedding if Covid-19 restrictions continue?
The team at Coltsford Mill are completely committed to supporting our couples during this uncertain time.

If you’re booked to marry at our beautiful barn wedding venue in the Surrey countryside and coronavirus restrictions are in place over your date, there is no need to despair.

You will have the option to go ahead with your wedding ceremony at Coltsford Mill on the original date if you wish (regulations permitting), followed by a larger celebration on the date of your choosing, once coronavirus restrictions allow. If you’ve livestreamed your ceremony, we can even play the footage back for all your guests to enjoy during the later event.

Don’t forget about our new flexible Intimate Weddings package designed for 15 or more people.

Even Covid-19 cannot spoil your wedding dreams at Coltsford Mill!
